Outsourcing your payroll is an important decision and these are some of the key questions that have to be addressed. Please contact us if you have any specific queries.
 
·  Will Target’s software cope with my systems?
Target is experienced in exporting from a very wide range of client software.  We use both Sage and Star and can easily use your existing data – or we can work from paper records where required.
 
·  Can I be sure of full compliance?
We keep you up to date with all legislative requirements, including any changes as they take place. You can be confident that you are fully compliant with tax and National Insurance bands, directors’ NI, age discrimination rules, national minimum wage, statutory payments and much more.
 
·  Will Target understand my sector?
Because we are part of a full-service accountancy practice, we regularly work with a very wide range of business sizes and sectors. We’ll be able to help with sector-specific issues such as bonuses, commission payments, gratuities, bank holiday working, overtime and shifts as well as more ad-hoc needs such as redundancies and ex gratia payments.
 
·  Will I get weekly/monthly payslips?
Yes – you can specify the frequency of your salaries and you’ll receive the payslips well in time for payday so that staff are fully informed.
 
·  Will I get annual returns?
We’ll file your returns online so that you qualify for the online discounts. You’ll receive copies of all relevant paperwork such as P35s and P60s.
 
·  Is there a setup charge?
A small setup charge is usually needed but this starts from £25 and we are able to make full use of any existing data you have – we won’t usually need to start from scratch.
 
·  Do the fees include all activities?
Yes – what we quote is what you’ll pay. If your business grows then we’ll talk to you about the increase in your requirements and any decrease in payroll size will be quickly reflected in lower costs. See our complete list of payroll services for more.
 
·  Does the service scale up easily?
We’re ready to respond quickly and cost effectively to growth in your company. You won’t see sudden or unexpected jumps in fees and we can handle anything from a single salary to thousands of salaries.
 
·  What happens if staff numbers fall?
We don’t impose an annual contract so what you pay will reflect your actual requirements. We’re even happy to give smaller companies a sabbatical period if directors decide they want to spend a time without taking salary payments.
 
·  Can HM Revenue & Customs use the data?
All of our outputs are designed to make life simple when dealing with HMRC, including online submission of all year-ends such as P45s and P46s. We’ll even help you cope with compliance visits, preparing files in the right format for the tax office to analyse.
